Amnesty Store Delivery Terms

1. General

These terms and conditions of delivery concern the use of online service which is provided by the Finnish section of Amnesty International.

When purchasing products from Amnesty Store, customer accepts these terms and conditions and agrees to comply with them. Rights to all the contents of Amnesty Store (hereinafter “Service”) belong to Amnesty International’s Finnish section (hereinafter “Service provider”).

2. Collection and handling of personal information

The Service provider is responsible for the appropriate management and privacy safeguards of information provided by the customer. Personal information provided by the customer is stored in the Service provider’s customer registry. The content and maintenance of the customer registry are explained in greater detail in the Service’s registry information.

Mandatory information required for use of the Service include first name, last name, postal address, phone number and email address.

The Service provider will never disclose collected personal information to outside parties. Customer registry data can be used in online direct marketing only if the customer has given consent.

3. Ordering from the online store

A binding trade agreement between the customer and the Service provider comes into effect when the Service provider confirms the order made by the customer on the online service. Confirmation is done upon receipt of the customer’s payment on the Service Provider’s account. Products will only be sent to addresses in Finland.

4. Product prices

Price of the ordered product is always the price indicated at the time of order in the online Service. Potential customer discount codes are entered upon confirmation of an order, after which the online store will automatically calculate the reduced price.

5. Payment methods

Products and their postage are paid upon placing an order. The following methods of payment are available in the online store: Nordea, Osuuspankki, Sampo, Tapiola, Aktia, Nooa, Local co-operative banks, savings banks, Handelsbanken, S-Pankki and Ålandsbanken. Payment is made through the Checkout service.

Online banking

Payment through online banking and the related money transfers and financial services are provided by the Checkout service, which acts in cooperation with banks and credit institutions. Checkout receives the payment and disburses it to the merchant. The service experience appears as customary online payment for the user.

6. Delivery options

Delivery costs will be added to the price of the order. The minimum delivery cost for the order is EUR 1.40 irrespective of the amount purchased. Delivery cost includes postage and packaging. The logistics centre of the Service is Amnesty House in Tampere, which is volunteer-based, and orders are processed generally 1-2 times a week.

In general, the order is delivered to the recipient the next working day following the posting if it can be delivered through a mail slot or box. Otherwise, the mail distributor leaves a notice of delivery and the order can be picked up from the nearest post office.

7. Exchange and return policy

Consumers have the right under the Consumer Protection Act to cancel the order or part of it within fourteen (14) days after receiving the product. The date of receipt is not counted in the cancellation period.
You can change the product for another size, or return the product if you are not satisfied with it. You will get your money back by notifying your bank account number in the return form. If you want to change the product to a similar product of different colour or size, there will be no extra cost to you. Please note that: THE RETURNED PRODUCT MUST BE UNUSED, CLEAN AND THE PRODUCT INFORMATION MUST BE IN PLACE. This will ensure that we can sell the returned product to another customer. Products that do not have the right to return are marked separately (for example, food and underwear).

You should send the product for exchange or return by mail according to the instructions provided with the product. Attach a completed return form with the returned products. Customer returns are delivered as 2nd class letters / packages, and they arrive to us on average 3-4 days after shipping. Product exchanges and money returns are processed 1-2 times a week.

8. Liability of the Service provider

The Service Provider is not responsible for delays or damage caused by force majeure.

9. Settlement of disputes

Laws of Finland are applicable to disputes arising from these terms and conditions of delivery. All disputes arising under this Agreement which can not be negotiated shall be resolved in the Helsinki District Court.
